Brenda Goggs stands with a foot in two worlds as a practising Visual Artist and Teacher of English, History and Ideas. Exhibiting work in woven tapestry over the past 20 years, she has focused on Australian identity as an ‘object’ in an imperial cabinet of curiosities.
As a secondary school educator, she has led students into places where words and images jostle and collide as they explore each other’s territory, challenging prejudices and splitting open the world like a fruit, to find seeds of change within. In her poetry she also explores links between and texts and found images. Now with the school timetable set aside, Cracks in the Path is her first published poetry collection.
