Flights of the Mind

In Flights of the Mind Lorraine James brings to life everyday experiences and common memories, with stories straddling the twentieth century up to the present. Seen through the daily struggles of individuals and families, the self-satisfaction of the wealthy, the hopes of the downtrodden, joys of beachside holidays, and, as a bonus, the unfolding of familiar characters, she creates a colourful literary mosaic. Lorraine writes with a keen eye, perfectly capturing the nuances of time, class, gender and culture, a true gem.
